Berlin (dpa) - Berlin's Governing Mayor Michael Müller (SPD) does not always want to wait for a vote between all countries in the fight against the corona pandemic.

"We have to see that we can only master this crisis situation together and that we will continue to agree on a common approach as best we can," said Müller, who is also chairman of the conference of prime ministers, on Thursday after a video run by the country leaders.

"But I also say very clearly here: I no longer want to wait for the slowest one."

There are two or three examples of this.

“On the one hand, that's this Luca app or another,” said Müller.

It must now be possible to come to an agreement very quickly on how possible opening steps can be made more secure with digital platforms through contact tracking and networking.

“And I'll say clearly here: If that doesn't come to a conclusive result in our group, I'll do it on my own with this app.

I do not want to wait any more."

The same applies to the involvement of general practitioners in the vaccination process.

Nobody wants to give up the vaccination centers tomorrow.

"We would be crazy because there is a lot of great work being done," said the SPD politician.

“But when prime ministers say we want to use part of our capacities to approach family and company doctors more quickly, we have to be made possible.

I don't want to wait any longer. "
