Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Baden-Württemberg is initially suspending further easing for leisure and trade.

A spokeswoman for the State Ministry announced on Thursday that the opening step planned for March 22 at the earliest will be postponed.

"The current situation is so dynamic that we have to align our measures with this infection process," said Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens).

The opening step, which the federal and state governments agreed on at their conference at the beginning of March, would have provided further easing for circles with a seven-day incidence below 50 or between 50 and 100.

The stable or declining incidences required for this opening step are currently not in sight, it said.

“Unfortunately, the trend is pointing in the wrong direction.

On this basis, further openings are currently unrealistic and not useful, ”says Kretschmann.

The currently applicable Corona rules should therefore be adjusted from Monday.

A new regulation is in the works.
