Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Chained supporters of the Extinction Rebellion climate protection movement obstructed traffic on Hamburg's Köhlbrand Bridge on Thursday.
The Hamburg police announced on Twitter on Thursday that there were people on both sides of the bridge.
The traffic could flow in a single lane in every direction.
Nevertheless, drivers are asked to drive around the area as far as possible.
Extinction Rebellion claims to use the action to get politicians to act on the climate crisis.
"Recognize the climate emergency" read one of the banners hung on the bridge.
The activists had already blocked the bridge in November 2020 to send a signal against excessive consumption.
The striking Köhlbrand Bridge is an important artery of the Port of Hamburg.
