An elderly Egyptian lost 6 of his children and grandchildren. Ragab Omran, the seventieth old man who lives in the Sheikh Ubada area of Minya Governorate in Upper Egypt, did not imagine that in one moment he could lose his daughter and grandchildren while they were safe inside their home.
Rajab Omran recounted the details of his tragedy on the day of the accident, as reported by the Egyptian newspaper "Akhbar Al-Youm", where he explained that his daughter woke up to prepare breakfast, and decided to prepare a meal of French fries because her younger nephews prefer that meal and consider it a morning's gift for them.
The girl's desire to prepare the meal quickly, due to the young people's insistence on the need to prepare breakfast quickly, made her forget to close the gas cylinder, and here was her action the beginning of the disaster.
The girl left the "pan" of oil on the stove, and ran quickly, in order to prepare breakfast for the children, and upon completion she returned again to use the cooker, and she did not know that there was gas that had leaked from it because it was not closed.
As soon as she lit a match, the house turned into a block of flames, as the fire destroyed everything and on its way it caught her mother, two brothers and two grandchildren.
The man learned what happened when a village member came to tell him that his 4-storey house was on fire, and despite the efforts to extinguish the fire, no one was able to extinguish the fire due to its strength until the fire trucks came, and with it the fire subsided.
The man came to find the flames engulfing his family members: “All those who were in the house died, and when I came back, I met them with charred corpses, and the whole house was gone, and I was preparing a girl from the one who died, all her needs went into the fire.”
Feelings of sadness caused the man to lose consciousness when he saw the bodies of 6 of his family members in front of his eyes: "They left me in the blink of an eye. In the blink of an eye, they were not present with me."
