Cologne (dpa / lnw) - On Thursday morning, the police arrested a 38-year-old man who was allegedly armed and wanted for drug trafficking with an arrest warrant in Cologne.

In addition, two apartments in the Buchforst and Westhoven districts of Cologne had been searched, the police said.

The 38-year-old is also being investigated on suspicion of extortion and deprivation of liberty.

In the searched apartments, the investigators found several cell phones and documents related to the alleged drug deals.

In addition, a 61-year-old woman was provisionally arrested on suspicion of illegal residence.

There was a suspicion that the 38-year-old was infected with the corona virus.

The special forces therefore wore protective suits and breathing masks during the operation.

The fire brigade helped with the subsequent disinfection and disposal of the suits.

According to the police, the 38-year-old is said to have held a 28-year-old drug courier in an apartment for more than a week with at least three other, previously unknown men.

He is said to have caused serious injuries to the 28-year-old, the police said.

There were disputes over drug deals.

The 28-year-old managed to make himself noticeable to residents on the balcony of the apartment at the beginning of March.

They called the police.
