Russia: Biden's threats are impotence hysteria
The head of the Russian Duma considered that describing President Vladimir Putin as a "murderer" and threatening to make him "pay the price" as an "attack" on Russia, after statements by US President Joe Biden in this regard.
"This is hysteria caused by impotence. Putin is our president, and any attack on him is an attack on our country," wrote Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the State Duma (Duma) in the Russian parliament and close to the president, on his Telegram account.
And US President Joe Biden said today, Wednesday, that Russian President Vladimir Putin will face the consequences of directing efforts to influence the US presidential election in favor of Donald Trump, and that this will be achieved soon.
"He will pay the price," Biden said in an interview broadcast on ABC News on Wednesday.
In response to a question about the consequences that he intended, Biden said, "You will see soon."
When asked by the broadcaster if he thought the Russian president was a "murderer," Joe Biden replied: "Yes, I think so."
The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, had confirmed earlier that Russia would take all necessary steps to hedge against the possibility of the United States imposing new sanctions on it.
"We are required to take all necessary measures to hedge against risks and defend the interests of our country," he was quoted by Bloomberg News Agency, without disclosing the steps that are being planned.
He stressed that the US intelligence report alleging Russia's interference in the 2020 US presidential elections is "totally unfounded."
He stressed that Russia did not interfere in the 2016 elections nor the 2020 elections.
He continued, "It is regrettable that the beginning of every presidential term in the United States is linked to the imposition of sanctions on Russia."
The Russian embassy in Washington said this morning that the US intelligence accusations against Russia do not help build better relations with Moscow.
Yesterday, a US intelligence report on external threats to the 2020 elections said that Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized efforts to undermine the then Democratic candidate, the incumbent President, Joe Biden.
