Vote by mail Vote by mail in the Madrid Elections: how to apply and deadlines
Next Tuesday May 4, the day in which elections will be held in the
Community of Madrid
, there will be no class in the schools in the region.
In the press conference after the meeting of the
Governing Council
, the Minister of
Education
and spokesman for the regional government,
Enrique Ossorio
, explained that Royal Decree 605/1999 establishes a series of complementary measures when there are elections and one of them is declare non-working the day that elections are held that do not fall on a public holiday.
Ossorio has indicated that this royal decree of an electoral and non-educational nature makes it very clear that May 4 is non-working for school purposes.
Next Tuesday May 4 will be the second time the locals go to vote a weekday, which already made the June 10, 1987 (Wednesday), when the
PSOE
of
Joaquin Leguina
won for the
second time in the Community, but lost the absolute majority.
