Erfurt (dpa / th) - Thales employees temporarily stopped working in Arnstadt.

Around 100 employees of the technology group took part on Wednesday in the warning strike that IG Metall had called for in the wage dispute in the metal and electrical industry, as the first representative of the union in Erfurt, Ilko Vehlow, said on Wednesday.

A total of around 700 metal workers from seven companies in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Thuringia temporarily suspended their work.

Warning strikes are also planned in Thuringia in the coming days.

The actions started in early March.

In Thuringia, the issue is a new collective agreement for around 20,000 employees.

The union demands four percent more wages for the nationwide around 3.8 million employees - where things are going badly in a company, in the form of wage compensation with working hours reduced to four days.

So far, employers have promised wage increases for 2022 at the earliest and want automatic deviations from the wage level for weaker companies.

She described the warning strikes as "unnecessary and superfluous".
