Wriedel (dpa / lni) - A farmer has put an allegedly torn cattle into the driveway of a wolf consultant in the Uelzen district.

Investigations were initiated against the 66-year-old on suspicion of coercion, said a police spokesman on Wednesday.

First the "Allgemeine Zeitung" reported on the incident.

Accordingly, three men brought the dead animal over with a pickup on Tuesday and also gave the woman an envelope.

She has been verbally approached by livestock owners for a long time because of the wolf cracks, said the volunteer wolf advisor from the Wriedel community of the newspaper.

The police spokesman announced that administrative offense proceedings had been initiated against the 66-year-old farmer for improper transport and disposal of the carcass.

This is the responsibility of the veterinary office of the district of Uelzen.

The farmer told the Allgemeine Zeitung that he learned on Tuesday morning that 30 of his Galloway cattle had broken out and then discovered the dead calf.

He gave it to the wolf advisor to see if it had been torn by the wolf.

"The accused has not yet got involved with us," said the police spokesman.

His approach is not acceptable.

In Lower Saxony, the keepers of stolen livestock have to contact the wolf adviser responsible for their region.

This documents the crack in the pasture.

If the wolf is found to be the cause, the keepers can apply for compensation payments.
