Bad Salzuflen (dpa / lnw) - A woman died in an apartment fire in Bad Salzuflen.
In a room on the ground floor of the single-family house in the Lippe district, a fire broke out on Wednesday morning for unknown reasons at around 6 a.m., the police and fire brigade announced.
Neighbors had discovered smoke and heard the smoke alarm.
The elderly and only resident could only be rescued dead.
The flames were quickly extinguished, said a fire department spokesman.
The house was smoky.
The police started investigating the cause of the fire.
