Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - The SPD MP Manuela Strube has asked the Hessian ministries to answer petitions from citizens in simple and understandable language.

This applies especially to administrative questions and complicated issues, said the chairman of the petitions committee in the Hessian state parliament on Wednesday in Wiesbaden at the presentation of the annual report for 2020. The sender of a petition should understand what is in the notification and not afterwards have to call once and ask about the meaning.

In the Corona year 2020, according to the report, significantly more citizens in Hesse addressed their concerns directly to the state parliament than in the previous year.

The number of petitions rose by more than half to 1,421. The number of entries increased significantly, especially when Hessen had adopted new measures in the fight against the pandemic.

Among other things, the concerns revolved around the opening of churches, schools or daycare centers despite Corona.

962 petitions were therefore finally dealt with in 2020.

In 17 percent of the cases, the applicants were successful or partially successful.

A good third of the applications were negative, almost half were neutral.

This means, for example, that the concerns have been forwarded to another location.
