Hanover (dpa / lni) - The large-scale entry of general practitioners into corona vaccinations is being slowed down in Lower Saxony by the temporary suspension of vaccinations with the Astrazeneca vaccine.

Health Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) said in the state parliament in Hanover on Wednesday that the plan to involve family doctors from mid-April will be discussed again with the federal government.

The operation of the vaccination centers is essentially not affected by the Astrazeneca stop, because the Biontech / Pfizer vaccine is mostly used there.

The vaccinations of professional groups via mobile teams, for which the Astrazeneca vaccine was intended, were now initially carried out with the Biontech / Pfizer preparation.
