- A few years ago we had some children with a language disorder.

The educators received tips from the region's speech therapists, but needed more support in everyday life to work with the children.

Then we chose to hire speech therapists at the preschool, says Louise Reuterstrand who is the principal of the preschools Skogsgläntan and Kuddby preschool in Norrköping municipality.

The speech therapists now work in close collaboration with the educators and this has benefited not only the children who have difficulty with language comprehension.

- This benefits all children, says Louise Reuterstrand.

The trick that makes it easier to leave preschool

The speech therapist's work is not just about working with the spoken language, but about clarifying the environment - both visually and acoustically.

It is also about creating image support, so that everyday situations become easier.

- We had some children who thought it was hard to leave their parents, but it disappeared almost completely when we introduced this, says preschool teacher Petra Karlstrand.

In the video, you can see, among other things, how the preschool did to make it easier for the children to wave goodbye to their parents.
