Towards a split of the left parties in the first round.
Fabienne Grébert, head of the EELV list for the next regional elections in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, "sees no reason" to step aside in favor of the socialist Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, who has just formalized her candidacy.
"Why should I line up behind her?"
“, She wondered Tuesday on the sidelines of the presentation of a draft emergency plan for the youth of the region.
And to hammer: "Is the notoriety of a candidate enough to line up behind him?"
We are not in the spectacle policy ”.
The former socialist minister, who on Saturday formalized his candidacy for the presidency of the region led since 2016 by Laurent Wauquiez (LR), ambitioned to make these regional "the laboratory of the union of the left", but discussions with the ecologists did not succeed in view of the first round.
The left in dispersed order
The ecologists had however proposed to the main interested party to carry out a common list, only on the metropolis of Lyon and not on the whole of the region.
And that in case of victory, the presidency would go to Fabienne Grébert.
For its part, the PS said it was ready to line up behind a head of the environmentalist list, but on condition of weighing sufficient weight in the future executive.
Without result for the time being.
The electorate of the left will be coveted by a third list, the Communist Party and rebellious France leaving for the time being on their side to the battle.
