Peenemünde (dpa / lmv) - A thatched roof house in Peenemünde (Vorpommern-Greifswald district) caught fire on Monday evening.

The flames in the vacant holiday home were reported around 8:30 p.m., as the police announced on Tuesday morning.

The fire brigade had been busy with the extinguishing work for several hours - the fire had flared up again in the meantime before it could be completely extinguished early Tuesday morning.

Nobody was injured.

The police were initially unable to provide any information about the cause of the fire or the amount of damage.
