Weißenfels (dpa) - The basketball players from Syntainics MBC could not get any bonus counters in the fight to stay in the league.

As expected, the Weißenfelser lost their home game against Alba Berlin on Tuesday with 82:96 (38:54), but despite their 16th defeat of the season they have six points ahead of the first relegation place currently occupied by Rasta Vechta.

Marcus Eriksson (16), Simone Fontecchio (15) and Ben Lammers (14) had the largest share in the success of the albatrosses, who reduced the gap between the leaders to two points.

Sergio Kerusch (22), Quinton Hooker (17) and Michal Michalak (12) scored the most points for Weißenfels.

The hosts could only stand up to the second in the table in the first twelve minutes and were ahead with 24:22.

With a 10-0 run, the Berliners turned the game around within three minutes, hurried to 16 points by the break and led by 75:51 before the last quarter.

The Weißenfelser afforded too many ball losses (22) to seriously distress the favorites.
