Berlin (AP) - The North Rhine-Westphalian SPD parliamentary group chairman and designated head of the country, Thomas Kutschaty, is pushing for Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) to be dismissed due to failures in the corona policy.
First Spahn failed to get the vaccines, then to the test strategy, Kutschaty justified his demand in the "Spiegel".
"Spahn is overwhelmed with his job."
“Such a health minister is no longer sustainable in this historic crisis.
Angela Merkel now has to act quickly. "
Kutschaty said that there is no area of politics that needs so much trust from people as in health politics.
"Jens Spahn seriously damaged this trust."
Kutschaty described the decision by the Ministry of Health to temporarily suspend vaccinations with the Astrazeneca serum as a “disaster”.
Kutschaty is parliamentary group leader of the SPD in the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament.
At a digital party conference on March 6, 90.5 percent of the delegates elected him as the new state chairman.
The decision still has to be formally confirmed by postal vote.
