When teeth are damaged, the mouth becomes a source of infection, which would negatively affect the health of the entire body, so it is necessary to take good care of the health of the mouth and teeth well.

In her article published in the French newspaper "Le Figaro", writer Cassandre Fradlin said that the teeth have an aesthetic role in addition to being essential in the feeding process, so it is important to take care of them and give up some daily habits that could harm them greatly.

Among these habits are:

1- Drink lemon juice in the morning

Lemon is known for its health benefits, so it is sometimes recommended to drink it in the morning to boost digestion, but this type of citrus is bad for teeth.

Dental surgeon Catherine Rossi warns of "the acidity of lemons that erode tooth enamel beyond repair," and enamel is the tough, white layer of a tooth.

2- Use baking soda

Some claim that brushing teeth with baking soda keeps their bright whiteness, but the dental specialist warns against this practice, as it leads to tooth damage.

To clean or whiten the teeth, you should see a dentist, as there are methods of whitening in the clinic that maintain the integrity of the teeth.

3- Drink soft drinks while eating

The author emphasized that excessive consumption of sugary foods harms oral health, and upon contact with bacteria in the mouth, the sugar turns into acid that attacks the teeth.

Soft drinks also cause more damage to teeth than sugary drinks, and a specialist dental surgeon explains that "soda removes the tooth enamel layer, and thus leaves the teeth without protection."

4- Change from hot to cold

Catherine Rossi warns that a sudden change in the temperature of the mouth, such as drinking coffee and then a cup of water afterward, causes the enamel layer to crack, and you can even feel very painful from it.

It's similar to pouring hot water on an ice cube, as it cracks and melts.

5- Smoking

According to Rossi, tobacco settles on and weakens the enamel layer, not to mention that it poisons the gums, as nicotine, tar and all harmful components are included in its components, which can cause oral cancer.

6- Gnashing of teeth (clenching of teeth)

Often this movement is caused by stress, which causes us to suffer from what is commonly called "bruxism", and teeth grinding causes premature wear of the teeth as well as overwork the jaw muscles.

7- Nails biting

The author cautioned that the habit of biting nails is particularly harmful to the teeth in the long term, and the same applies to biting pens at work or in school.

In this regard, Rossi says that "although the tooth structure is strong, exposure to small strokes daily and repeatedly, ultimately exhausts the teeth."
