After an extremely complicated 2020 season due to the closure of florists due to confinement, lily of the valley producers in Loire-Atlantique are approaching the 2021 campaign with more optimism.

They are looking for at least 2,500 seasonal jobs to pick, sort and condition lily of the valley from mid-April.

The positions to be filled are mainly in the country of Retz (Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu, Machecoul, etc.).

"All the people motivated by this work must be available between April 19 and 30, with work on Saturdays and Sundays," said Pôle emploi, which oversees recruitment.

Interested candidates can apply from this website.

Lily of the valley is a real specialty of Nantes market gardeners who produce an average of 50 million sprigs per year, or 85% of French production.

Fewer and fewer, the producers in the Nantes region are around thirty.
