Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture has decided to install an administrative sign with a new character name on each island, including Uotsuri Island in the Senkaku Islands, and will apply for landing to the country in the future.

In October last year, Ishigaki City decided to install an administrative sign with a new character name on each island in response to the new addition of "Senkaku" to the character name of the Senkaku Islands.

We decided to set up five islands, Uotsurijima, Taishojima, Minamikojima, Kitakojima, and Kubajima.

We are considering writing, for example, "Uotsurijima Ishigaki City Tonoshiro Senkaku" on the administrative sign.

We are planning to make a sign using a part of the donation of about 60 million yen collected by the end of February for hometown tax payment, and in the future, we will apply to the country for landing to install it on each island.

In addition, we will use this donation to open a facility in a public facility in the city center that will introduce the history and environment of the Senkaku Islands through a panel exhibition.

The Ishigaki City Planning and Policy Division in charge says, "I would like to reiterate at home and abroad that the Senkaku Islands are a territory peculiar to Japan and an administrative area of the city."
