French winger Axel Toupane, who was not retained by the Golden State Warriors after his offseason test, was officially recruited Monday by Giannis Antetokounmpo's Milwaukee Bucks.

Toupane signed a "two way contract", a so-called two-way contract, which allows non-drafted players to join a team to stay there for at least 45 days.

Beyond this period, they are either kept, with the key to a standard contract of one or more years, or sent to the affiliated team of the franchise playing in the G-League, the antechamber of the NBA. .

So far, the 28-year-old (2.01 m) has played in the Santa Cruz Warriors, a formation of this championship precisely affiliated with Golden State, and posted fairly high statistics with 17.9 points, 8.1 rebounds. and 3.3 assists on average in nine matches played.

Axel Toupane had left the group of the France team, in full preparation for qualifying matches for Euro-2022 in December, in order to try a second adventure in the NBA.

Between 2015 and 2017, he had gone through Denver, Milwaukee, already, with a ten-day contract, and New Orleans.

This return to the Bucks will allow Toupane, if he manages to find a place there, to play the leading roles in the league, the Wisconsin franchise being among the contenders for the title.
