Erfurt (dpa / th) - Thuringian police officers have repeatedly lost a wide variety of equipment such as irritant sprayers and batons in recent years.
In 2017 and 2019 in particular, several losses were reported that were classified as an "important event", according to a recent response from the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior to a small request from FDP MP Dirk Bergner.
Ammunition for service pistols was therefore among the lost items.
Very few of these items were eventually found again.
The loss of ammunition by authorities is repeatedly discussed particularly critically.
One driver behind this discussion is that the Bundeswehr has lost a lot of ammunition and explosives in recent years.
According to the information, the financial damage to the country from such losses is at least manageable.
According to the ministry, the value of the material that disappeared in 2017 and 2019 was only 83.15 euros and 200.90 euros, respectively.
