Essen (AP) - A mother and her toddler son were injured in a fire in an apartment building in Essen.
For an unexplained cause, there was a fire on the second floor of the house on Sunday, as the fire brigade announced.
The mother and her child were able to escape to neighbors.
When the fire department arrived, parts of the kitchen equipment were on fire.
The rescue workers were able to extinguish the fire quickly.
The woman and child were taken to a hospital.
