Cuba is in "

permanent ideological war

", according to the government and the Cuban Communist Party (CCP).

With

the rise of social networks

and the increasingly frequent use of the Internet on the island, the authorities are facing a growing "

political-ideological subversion

", according to

Granma

, the organ of the central committee of the party.

The next congress of the Cuban Communist Party will therefore be an opportunity to reflect on the strategy to be put in place to fight in this "

battle of communication with better creativity and more intelligence

", specifies the newspaper.

A weapon to control

Some strategies for controlling social networks in Cuba have already been put in place: recently, high school and college students were asked for the name of their profile on social networks in order to control their publication, some have even received threats of suspension of their publication. studies if they continued to publish their opinions.

A doctor was also fired from his hospital for posting on the networks.

And frequently, the war of “likes” and comments between revolutionaries and more critical Cubans makes even President Miguel Diaz-Canel react!

For more than a year, the internet on cell phones has become a weapon of defense for human rights activists, artists and young people who suffer from repression and censorship.

And faced with this connected youth, the government and the party often seem overwhelmed.
