Heilbronn (dpa / lsw) - One year after the violent death of a 15-year-old on the family's riding stables near Güglingen (Heilbronn district), a verdict is to be announced on Monday in the trial against the brother.

The accused, who is now 18 years old, is charged with murder before the Heilbronn district court.

He is said to have stabbed his brother with a knife earlier this year and then seriously injured his father.

The procedure takes place in camera.

The youth faces up to ten years in prison.

This is the maximum penalty in juvenile criminal law.

According to the prosecution at the beginning of the trial, the youth stabbed and killed his brother ten times.

He then stabbed his father, who was 54 years old at the time of the crime, 29 times.

He survived the knife attack by his son, who also injured himself and also had to be treated in hospital.

The crime took place on an emigrant farm.

The motive for the act was still unclear at the start of the trial.
