Teltow (dpa / bb) - Unknown people triggered a smoldering fire in an empty building in Teltow in the Teltow-Fläming district.
The building serves as a shelter for the homeless, as witnesses have seen, said a police spokeswoman on Sunday in Potsdam.
After the rescue control center was alerted on Saturday, the fire brigade found a smoldering fire there and extinguished it.
According to initial findings, it came about because strangers set rubbish on fire.
Nobody was in the building at the time of the crime.
It was initially unclear whether the fire was deliberately started because there were homeless people there.
The criminal police are investigating arson.
