From tomorrow, Monday 15 March, 48 million Italians from 10 regions plus the Province of Trento are in the 'red zone' to ease coronavirus infections.

The other regions, except Sardinia (white zone), are in the orange area.

The decree published on Friday in the Official Gazette cancels the yellow color from the Italian regions until April 6.

Some regions have adopted more restrictive measures even if in orange.

The

Tuscany

in orange, for example, ordered the red zone for 3 provinces (Arezzo, Pistoia and Prato) and ten other municipalities.

The

Piedmont

has banned the movement towards second homes this weekend.

Targeted control services have been planned - with the help of local police forces - on nightlife spots and on holidays and days before holidays.

For the Easter holidays, a further crackdown will be triggered to monitor the movements.

The Minister of the Interior, Luciana Lamorgese spoke of "capillary controls", with a "balanced approach", albeit with the "necessary rigor".
