Streit said he saw the election result as confirmation of the traffic light coalition.
“The government mandate was given to the old government by the electorate, that is clear.
For us that means we will sit on the opposition benches. "
They want to use the next five years to develop the Free Voters as a party.
"We are also expecting a lot of new entrants," said Streit.
The state chairman Stephan Wefelscheid spoke of "a great thing" if the prognoses about a move into the state parliament should be confirmed.
"That would of course be a great thing, a sensation for the Free Voters."
