TASS informs about this with reference to the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region Valery Gorelykh.

"Tonight at about 19:00 (17:00 Moscow time) on the 48th kilometer of the Yekaterinburg-Tyumen highway, a traffic accident occurred, as a result of which five people died, two of them were children," Gorelykh said.

According to him, "the traffic police previously established that the driver of the Kia car, moving from Tyumen in the direction of Yekaterinburg, lost control of the vehicle, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Volvo truck, which was moving in the opposite direction."

All the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

Earlier it was reported that eight people were injured as a result of a collision of a truck with a minibus on the Vilyui highway in the Nyurba region of Yakutia.
