Michelstadt (dpa / lhe) - The voters in Michelstadt have to vote again before their new mayor is determined.

On Sunday, none of the five candidates achieved an absolute majority in the first ballot.

Sandra Allmann (CDU) was able to gather the most voters with 29.2 percent.

She stands in the runoff election against Tobias Robischon from the non-partisan voter community.

Robischon almost reached second place with around 24.2.

The SPD candidate Roger Tietz narrowly missed the runoff election.

He received around 22.9 percent of the vote on Sunday.

Jonas Schönefeld (Greens) and Dirk Freitag (independent) had to admit defeat with 12.9 and 10.9 percent.

Incumbent Stephan Kelbert was no longer running.

The turnout on Sunday was 56.87 percent.
