Dietzenbach (dpa / lhe) - In the mayoral election in Dietzenbach, none of the candidates could achieve an absolute majority in the first ballot.

Incumbent Jürgen Rogg received almost the most votes on Sunday with 36.2 percent.

The 59-year-old individual applicant will run against the SPD candidate Dieter Lang in the runoff election in a few weeks' time.

The 56-year-old was able to gather 34.8 percent of the voters behind him on Sunday and ended up just behind Rogg.

The Green candidate, René Bacher, received 28.9 percent of the vote.

The turnout was 46.33 percent.
