"For many months the + Europa Assembly has not been able to find an agreement on the rules for celebrating the next Congress, which the Statute provides to take place every two years", explains an irritated Della Vedova, recording "an escalation of internal tension that it also led Emma Bonino to announce her departure from the party under these conditions. An act which, by statute, "automatically provides for the convening of a new Congress within three months".
Thus overcoming the prerogatives of the Assembly which is the body responsible for deciding the rules of the Congress.
And while the functions of secretary will be exercised by President Simona Viola, Della Vedova warns everyone: "The party belongs to its members and I intend, as things stand, to submit my candidacy for the Secretariat again".
Emma Bonino's outburst is less strategic and more 'genuine': "I, personally - he says -, don't want to be in this party anymore. It's not a big problem since I'm one of the incompetent and ignorant.
