13 March 2021 He was from Carmagnola (Turin) and was born in 1955, the pilot of the ultralight aircraft that crashed in Castelnuovo Don Bosco in the province of Asti.
During the take-off phase, at around 3.30 pm, the ultralight collided with the turret of the Avio runway in Castelnuovo Don Bosco and, following the impact, it lost altitude and crashed to the ground.
The man died instantly.
The causes of the accident are being investigated.
On site the Carabinieri of Castelnuovo Don Bosco and Villanova d'Asti as well as the 118 health workers, the Fire Brigade and the helicopter rescue activated immediately following the disaster.
The ultralight aircraft was seized by the Carabinieri who will carry out investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the facts, coordinated by the Asti public prosecutor.
