The Jordanian government: What happened in Salt Hospital is a matter of great importance and cannot be justified

Today, Saturday, Jordanian Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh said that what happened in Salt Hospital is a great matter and cannot be justified.

This is after the death of seven people infected with the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) due to lack of oxygen in the hospital.

The Jordanian News Agency "Petra" quoted Bisher Al-Khasawneh as saying that the government bears full responsibility for the accident at Salt Hospital, announcing the dismissal of the Minister of Health and the Director of Salt Hospital and the suspension of the Director of Balqa Health from work until the completion of the investigation procedures.

Earlier, the Jordanian forensic medicine announced that the bodies of the seven deceased in the Salt Hospital accident were handed over to their families today, Saturday.

The forensic medicine indicated that all the deceased were the cause of their death by lack of oxygen, and they were infected with the emerging corona virus (Covid-19).

Official media in Jordan said that Health Minister Nazir Obeidat resigned today, Saturday, after the incident.

A government spokesman stated that the Jordanian prime minister had asked Obaidat to resign over the incident, for which the minister said he was "morally responsible."

Obeidat said that preliminary investigations found that the deaths occurred due to an hour-long lack of oxygen to the hospital units, and that prosecutors took over the case.

And the Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah, visited the hospital at a later time.
