Suhl (AP) - In the last game of the main round, the Bundesliga volleyball players at VfB Suhl suffered a bitter defeat.

The Thuringians were defeated on Saturday evening by the tenth VC Wiesbaden with 0: 3 (12:25, 22:25, 22:25).

While the opponents no longer had a chance of reaching the playoffs, the Suhlers missed the leap to fifth place in the volleyball Bundesliga due to the defeat.

In the knockout round, VfB meets Schweriner SC with former Suhl coach Felix Koslowski.

The playoffs begin on Wednesday, and VfB is back for the first time since the 2013/14 season.

Against Wiesbaden, Suhl's head coach Laszlo Hollosy had to watch how his team rarely made real moves in the first set.

Two breaks didn't help either.

At the latest at 10:20 am, the set was lost for Suhl.

The team around VfB captain Claudia Steger also had a hard time in the second round.

In the third round, the Suhlers made it exciting again and kept the event open for a long time.

In the end, however, Wiesbaden presented itself as clearer and more determined.
