Berlin (dpa / bb) - More people than expected demonstrated in Berlin against the effects of the corona lockdown such as school closings, isolation and economic restrictions.

In rainy weather, police said that "around 1000 demonstrators at the top" met in front of the Federal Ministry of Health for a rally of the movement "Enough!"

A dpa reporter spoke of hundreds of participants.

"The demonstrators have later spread out and reduced to 400," said a police spokeswoman.

According to the police, 50 people were registered.

"It is enough!"

According to its self-portrayal on the Internet, stands for the free-democratic basic order and calls for an open dialogue on corona restrictions.

Similar demonstrations of the movement were also planned in the capitals of all other federal states.

The police pointed out several times over the loudspeaker that the minimum distance of 1.50 meters should be observed and that mouth and nose protection had to be worn.

The majority wore masks - but not all.

A dozen counter-demonstrators shouted "We'll vaccinate you all".

The Association for the Preservation of Rural Living Space eV moved in the afternoon with two car parades from the Olympia-Station and from Pankow in the direction of Alexanderplatz.

A total of 900 participants were registered - according to the police, however, only a few hundred were on the road.

Here, too, protests were made against the corona restrictions and for freedom of the media.

With the motto “Masks down, no more lockdown”, a rally then started on Alexanderplatz, which the association had also registered.

According to the dpa reporter's observations, fewer than 300 people gathered there late in the afternoon - the police came to a similar size.

According to a police spokeswoman, the demonstrations in the afternoon were initially peaceful.
