Anyone who sends unwanted nude photos or spreads photos can do something criminal and it can have legal consequences.

New material will now be released at the end of March that can be used to draw attention to sexual abuse of children and young people online.

The initiative is based on giving the school, parents and children different tools for a safer life.

- Why it is important to report such crimes is not only for oneself, it is also important to be able to help others, says Louise Åhlén, police inspector at the national operational unit NOA.

A major societal problem

According to Louise Åhlén, it is important that guardians dare to talk openly about risks online as soon as the children get a toad in their hand.

- Everything is about the parents' view of the children's world.

Not to separate the phone from reality and instead see it as one and the same world, says Louise Åhlén and continues:

- It is important to awaken those thoughts in adults and stop talking about "a virtual world" because this is the children's life.
