His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, said, through his official account on the social networking site "Twitter", that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid launched the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 .. and directed that Dubai be the best city for life in The world ... a new stage of work for the next twenty years, with a clear road map for sustainable development, with which we will complete an ambitious development project that places human happiness at the forefront of its goals.
His Highness added, "The plan guarantees our full readiness to meet the needs of all members of society and visitors ... by focusing on five urban centers that support the economic sectors ... and diversify job opportunities ... and provide housing requirements within 6 levels of urbanization that determine the level of infrastructure for all facilities and services."
His Highness concluded by saying, "Important goals of the plan, foremost among which are strengthening citizen’s attachment to old neighborhoods… ensuring optimal employment of resources, especially land… providing better housing options… increasing green areas… and supporting new economic sectors… while stimulating investment, entrepreneurship and expanding mobility solutions.
