Rostock / Schwerin / Greifswald (dpa / mv) - In several cities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, critics of the corona protective measures have demonstrated for an end to the restrictions that have been in place for months.

According to the police, the largest event took place on Saturday in Rostock.

According to the authorities, around 750 people gathered there in the afternoon after three car parades through the city to demand an end to the lockdown.

Administrative offense proceedings have been initiated against a number of demonstration participants.

The main reason was not wearing protective masks, said a police spokesman.

The initiators had previously failed with the attempt to have the requirements imposed by the city of Rostock on wearing masks and keeping a list of participants suspended by means of an urgent application.

The Schwerin Administrative Court rejected this.

A "summary review" of the provisions in the Corona state ordinance did not result in them being void, the court said in support of the grounds.

According to the police, there were also minor actions in Schwerin and Greifswald on Saturday.

Opponents of the corona protective measures had already mobilized in Stralsund and Wolgast on Friday.

It said there were around 70 and 100 participants in the actions.
