Dortmund (AP) - Borussia Dortmund has achieved an important victory in the fight for the Champions League places and at the same time further aggravated the situation of Hertha BSC.

BVB won on Saturday evening thanks to a lucky goal by national player Julian Brand (54th minute) and a goal by Youssoufa Moukoko (90 + 1), who had just been substituted, 2-0 (0-0) against the Berliners.

The Dortmund team of coach Edin Terzic moved up to fifth place in the Bundesliga table for at least one day.

After the 14th defeat of the season, Hertha is only ahead of relegation place 16 thanks to the better goal balance and has to do without Vladimir Darida for the time being, who saw the red card in the 80th minute after a gross foul.
