Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin have continued their successful streak in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Saturday, the capital city won against the Düsseldorfer EG 8: 1 (3: 0, 4: 0, 1: 1) and celebrated their fourth victory in a row.

Kris Foucault scored three goals, Leonhard Pföderl was twice successful.

In addition, Lukas Reichel, Zach Boychuk and Matt White ensured the clear home win of the league leaders in the last main round match within the northern group with further goals.

In front of empty stands in the arena at Ostbahnhof, the hosts had a hard time at first, but then benefited from the playful class of their first attack row: First Marcel Noebels prepared two goals from Pföderl, then he played for Reichel, who made sure that the Berliners went into the first break with a three-goal lead.

The guests, with Mirko Pantkowski in goal for Hendrik Hane, tried hard after the restart, but left the polar bears plenty of room for counterattacks: two times Foucault, Boychuk in the power play and White consistently used the opportunities presented.

In the final section, the Düsseldorfer were able to shorten through an overpaid goal from Alexander Ehl before Foucault scored for the third time.
