Jari-Matti Latvala presented his wishes for two winter rallies in the calendar in connection with the Finnish winter rally and he also had discussions on site with the highest officials within the International Motorsports Federation, President Jean Todt and rally director Yves Matton.

- It would work very well if Sweden had its competition first and that we drive in Rovaniemi the following week logistically.

Financially, it would not cost much more for the teams either.

We also only have one winter rally and developing cars and tires for one competition per year feels quite illogical, says Latvala.

Want to stay in Värmland

Latvala also wants the Swedish World Cup competition to remain in Värmland with Torsby as a base, despite the fact that snow safety has sometimes been poor in recent years.

- If we had two winter rallies, it would not do much if one has a little bad luck with the weather one year.

The organization in Värmland is very good and I would like to see the rally continue to run there, says the Finn who won the Swedish rally four times during his career.
