After the 20% drop in the amount of subscriptions, in force since January, another campaign promise relating to public transport will become reality in Nantes.

From April 24, the first day of the Easter holidays, there will no longer be any need to validate a ticket to board a bus or a tram on weekends: with the exception of the airport shuttle, all public transport common will be free, from Saturday midnight to Sunday 11:59 p.m., specifies the metropolis this Friday.

This measure, "good for purchasing power and good for the climate", will concern all travelers, residents of the metropolis or not.

"It will be accompanied by free park-and-ride facilities (4,000 spaces) for users of the transport network as well as a gradual strengthening of the TAN network", indicates the metropolis.

Return to the transport route

Expected for the month of September, this announcement seems to have taken a little advance, perhaps to further encourage residents to take the path of public transport and restore their confidence.

At the end of 2020, just before the implementation of the 6 p.m. curfew, overall traffic to the TAN network was estimated at 75% of last year's level, according to management.
