Zwickau (dpa / sn) - IG Metall continues to apply pressure in the current collective bargaining round.
On Friday, employees of the automotive supplier GKN in Zwickau were called to a warning strike.
To do this, the morning shift should end its work two hours earlier at noon.
According to the trade unionist Benjamin Zabel, the company's employees have worked many extra shifts in recent months.
Despite good sales, the company regularly threatens to relocate work to Eastern Europe.
This is one of the reasons why the workers to secure the location and employment - "a central demand of IG Metall in this collective bargaining round," said Zabel.
The union is demanding four percent more money for twelve months, which is to be used to secure employment and income.
In addition to future company collective wage agreements, collective bargaining also includes a collective adjustment allowance and the improvement of takeover regulations for trainees.
The current collective bargaining dispute in Saxony involves around 27,000 employees in companies subject to collective bargaining;
the metal and electrical industry in the Free State has a total of around 190,000 employees.
