The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai stated, in a recent report titled “Education for All Classes,” that 100% of early childhood centers adhere to health and safety measures approved through 222 surprise visits carried out by the authority’s team on early childhood centers since last October.

The authority specified in the guide to precautionary measures in schools, universities and early childhood centers in the Emirate of Dubai, at the beginning of the current school year, to reduce infection with the Corona virus.

10 health and safety measures obligated nurseries and early education centers to follow them, stressing that maintaining health and safety in the centers is everyone's responsibility, and the measures aim to protect children and the educational, technical and administrative personnel in them.

Health and safety measures include conducting a PCR examination for all cadres before reopening nurseries and early education centers, measuring the temperature of all children and cadres at the entrances to the centers, adhering to physical distancing guidelines according to the recommendations of the concerned health authorities, and adhering to a maximum of 10 students per class. At all times, cadres wear masks at all times, and limit gatherings and suspend group activities such as celebrations and sporting events, or follow them online.

The procedures also include distributing the student program, including eating breaks at different times, to avoid crowding students in one place, cleaning and sterilizing buildings, classrooms, laboratories and other facilities regularly, and preventing the entry of personnel working in support and maintenance services and others to the building during working hours and the presence of Children and staff, identifying a health and safety official in each center, and training him to implement instructions, controls and precautionary requirements.

She pointed out that the PCR examination is not compulsory for children under the age of 12 years, and it is mandatory for children who show symptoms of the disease, and children registered in nurseries and early education centers are not required to wear masks.

The authority affirmed that the early childhood sector in Dubai benefits from the renewed efforts of the Dubai government focusing on ensuring the quality of education and care, and the quality of life for children at an early age, as the emirate embraces more than 200 nurseries and early childhood centers, where early childhood is one of the basic stages in the development And the growth of the child, which includes the age stage from birth until reaching the age of six years.

The authority oversees the implementation of the decision of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, regarding the organization of early childhood centers in the emirate, which works to achieve eight goals, namely ensuring the quality of early childhood care and education, in accordance with the best international practices applied in this regard, and ensuring that the outputs of the care and education sector are kept up. In the early childhood stage, the strategies adopted for the Emirate, encouraging and consolidating the basic principles and concepts of society in the early childhood stage, by preparing the child for a responsible life in a society dominated by a spirit of understanding, tolerance and equality.

The decision aims to support the educational environment in the centers, to achieve efficient and high-quality educational outcomes for a generation capable of learning, developing the capabilities and skills of children with special abilities, as well as children of determination, and organizing the provision of care and education services to those in early childhood in the emirate, In a way that guarantees their rights to care and education, providing qualified personnel with specialized experience and skills, capable of providing care and education services to children in early childhood, and encouraging investment in the early childhood care and education sector.

50% hybrid education

The report “Education for All Classes” in the Spring Edition stated that 50% of students in private schools in the Emirate of Dubai are currently enrolled in schools that provide hybrid education for their students, which is a mixture between the distance learning and face-to-face learning models, compared to 50% of students enrolled in private schools that offer a model 100% distance learning.
