Bremen (AP) - After jumping into the secured mid-table of the Bundesliga, Werder Bremen also wants to end the winless series against defending champions FC Bayern Munich.

The Hanseatic League has been waiting for the 110th league clash on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) for 24 matches on three points.

Werder were unsuccessful in 13 games at their home Weserstadion, their last point win was in March 2009 when they were 0-0.

"It's a huge incentive," said coach Florian Kohfeldt on Friday.

The omens are not as bad as they were before.

After 2-0 on Wednesday in the catch-up game at Arminia Bielefeld, Bremen are eleven points ahead of relegation rank 16. The pressure after the almost relegation last year is no longer as great.

"It would be a lie if I said that I didn't sleep better than last year," said Kohfeldt.

To get something countable against the record champions, his team needs an exceptional performance.

“We only have a chance if we enter the game with the thought that it is an existential game.

Otherwise not, ”emphasized the 38-year-old.

Defender Marco Friedl, who has to pause due to a yellow card suspension against his former club, will not be there.

For him, Niklas Moisander will slip into the starting XI, confirmed Kohfeldt.
