The volcano Etna in Sicily has had its eleventh eruption since February 16 and ash has rained down on the population of the island. Now the governor of Sicily has declared a state of emergency and asked for help from the government. - It has rained six to seven kilos of ash per square meter, says Jennifer Wegerup, SVT's correspondent in Italy.
The Italians are used to Etna erupting from time to time, but now there has been an unusually high level of activity and the eruptions are receiving more and more attention in the country.
