Hamburg (dpa / lno) - A storm low is said to bring increased water levels to the North Sea coast and Hamburg on Friday night.

According to the forecast by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) on Thursday, the night floods in Dagebüll and Hörnum on Sylt (both in the district of North Friesland) will be around one meter higher than the normal flood.

For Hamburg (St. Pauli) 75 centimeters to one meter more water are expected.

According to the forecast of the German Weather Service (DWD), the storm low moving from Scotland to the Norwegian Sea can reach gusts of force 11 on the North Sea coast.

The DWD issued a storm warning.

In the evening the wind should decrease again.
