Berlin / Potsdam (dpa / bb) - Heavy rain heralds the stormy weather that is gathering in Berlin and Brandenburg.

The German Meteorological Service in Potsdam had forecast heavy squalls, thunderstorms and rain and sleet showers until Friday evening.

According to the forecast, gusts of wind with wind speeds between 65 and 80 kilometers per hour will occur as early as Thursday afternoon, especially in the north-western half of Brandenburg and in the Berlin area.

That corresponds to wind force eight to nine.

In the Prignitz near showers and thunderstorms, even locally heavy gusts of wind force ten with up to 100 km / h are expected.

From the Elster to the Lausitz, gusts of wind can reach force seven, in the vicinity of showers even up to nine.

The temperatures rise to eight to eleven degrees.
