March 11, 2021 At least 27 people were killed in Indonesia's West Java province in an accident involving a bus that crashed into a ravine.

A group of students from an Islamic high school was traveling on the bus and there were 66 people on board, including children and their parents who were accompanying them on a trip.

One survivor told local media that before the accident "the passengers smelled burning and the driver said the brakes weren't working."

After the crash, the woman said she was "stuck in my seat, but I managed to get out of the bus, thank God my children are safe".

The transport ministry said it had launched an investigation to determine the dynamics of the accident.
